Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) is an annual plant of the Apiaceae family. It is one of the most popular spices globally. Coriander has been used as a culinary herb, spice and medicinal plant for thousands of years.
It can be assumed that this annual herb has it´s origins in the Mediterranean region. Coriander grows up to 50cm high with dense branching and pinnate foliage similar to flat-leaved parsley. After pollination, peppercorn-sized, hemispherical, light brown seeds form.
